Akoya Sponsors Pennsylvania Legal Non-Profit

In May, our Pittsburgh-based staff (as well as one intrepid DC traveler) showed Akoya’s support for the Women’s Law Project (WLP) at their annual Rights to Realties gala. We were a Champion-level sponsor for the event. With plus ones included, Akoya filled nearly two tables!

The WLP is a nonprofit that defends and advances the legal rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ community members in and outside of Pennsylvania. This year’s event theme was “Community is power.”

Akoya is a long-time supporter of WLP. We have designed art for their Pittsburgh fundraising gala for 12 years, and in recent years, for their Philadelphia event, too. In fact, our own Sarah Chambers, COO, originally joined Akoya in 2014 after serving as the Program and Development Associate at WLP.

This year’s gala was extra special due to the WLP’s recent legal victory protecting reproductive autonomy. Executive Director Susan Frietsche and board member Dr. Grace Ferguson spoke about the passion behind their work and their joy at moving the needle forward.

We look forward to continuing our support of the Women’s Law Project in 2027!
